The Jewish Community Center on West End Ave was bombed on March 16, 1958.
In that era the Hattie Cotton School and the home of Z. Alexander Looby were also bombed. None of these civil rights bombings in Nashville were ever solved.
Historian Betsy Phillips has investigated civil rights bombings amidst time passed, disappeared files, blocked resources, and remarkable interviews and reached some compelling conclusions.
If you remember the bombing of the JCC on West End and even if you don’t, Betsy Phillips will reveal her conclusions.
